Miss Meredith

Owner/Director and Certified Montessori Teacher

Miss Meredith began working at Spokane Montessori School as an assistant in 1995 while still attending high school. Even as a teenager, she was inspired by the remarkable abilities and curiosity of young children. She observed four-year-olds adding, reading, and focusing intensely on academic activities, and was in awe of their drive to develop skills far beyond their years, along with a love of learning that could last a lifetime.

She completed her teacher training through the Montessori Institute of America in 1997 and later graduated from Whitworth College in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Literature. Since then, Meredith has served Spokane Montessori in many roles, including Lead Teacher, Program Supervisor, and Director, before proudly purchasing the school in September 2011.

Her commitment to lifelong learning continued as she earned her Child Development Associate Credential in 2014 and a Master of Education with a Montessori emphasis from William Howard Taft University in 2016. That same year, she completed her children’s yoga teacher certification and continues to bring her passion for movement and mindful development into her school community.

Meredith is the proud mother of three children — one currently attending Eastern Washington University and two who are graduates. Her daughter holds a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy, and her son earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. In her spare time, Meredith enjoys reading, walking, practicing and teaching yoga, spending time with friends, appreciating the beauty of the city she calls home, and traveling with her family.

Miss Erin

Program Supervisor and Certified Montessori Teacher

Miss Erin began working at Spokane Montessori in 2019. She grew up in the rural Midwest, has her bachelors in English Literature and Creative Writing, and her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing with an emphasis on Children’s Literature. She taught writing, research, children’s literature, developmental reading, and study skills for thirteen years at Texas State University and then Spokane Falls Community College.

She’s the author of two story collections and a novel. For the past four years, she has taught children’s recreational tennis (ages 5-14) with the United States Tennis Association. In her spare time, she runs, swims, and bikes, co-hosts a radio show on KYRS, and leads the monthly Fuse Book Club.

Miss Erin is thrilled to be a Montessori Teacher! She grew up believing she’d be an artist (as did everyone), as her father was a painter, sculptor, and photographer, and she spent all spare time split between books and art. Her son Henry began attending this school when he was 2.5.

She has completed her Montessori Teacher training through the North American Montessori Center. She appreciates Maria Montessori, her method, and the opportunity to play an active role in this vibrant community of wonderful, astute women and your ever-thinking and ever-joyful children.
